    We have scheduled the distribution of instructional materials, any needed devices, and school supplies to occur the week of Monday, 8/10/20 through Friday, 8/14/20. The distribution of materials will occur one grade level per day, to ensure that safety and social distancing protocols are in place. It is our goal to make this process as easy as possible for our parents, and safe for everyone. You will be notified of your child’s new classroom assignment on the same day that instructional materials are retrieved from the school.

    Below are the assigned days for material distribution to parents, which will occur daily from 8:30am-9:30am:

    Monday, 8/10/20 - Grade One

    Friday, 8/14/20 - Grade Five and IDM Class

    Parents of ETK, TK and Kindergarten students will be contacted for an appointment throughout the week of 8/10/20-8/14/20, so that we may also assist any new parents.

    Parents of outgoing Fifth Grade students and any student not returning to Arlington Heights:

    Please return devices (ChromeBooks, iPads, etc.) to school on Thursday, August 6, 2020 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. All devices must be returned with their chargers. Safety and social distancing protocols will be in place.

    All other students who are returning to Arlington Heights should keep their devices to use this school year.

    As the Principal of Arlington Heights Elementary School, it is my pleasure to extend a cordial welcome to all new and returning students and their families. Although the 2020-2021 school year will begin virtually, we are very enthusiastic and looking forward to a great school year.

    As we embark on this new school year through Virtual Learning, we will continue to provide highly effective standards-based instruction for all students.  With the rapid pace of our challenging curriculum, I would like to emphasize the importance of student attendance, which has a direct correlation with student achievement. As parents, please know that it is imperative that your child(ren) participates and engages in school virtually, 100% of the time.

    To support this endeavor, I strongly encourage all of our parents/guardians to enroll in the LAUSD Parent Portal, which is an online system that allows parents to monitor student attendance, grades and assignments, view active IEP and service delivery, view Standardized Test results, track Reclassification progress of English Learners, complete an online Volunteer Application, update emergency contact and telephone numbers, and much more.  It is our goal to have 100% of our parents/guardians enrolled in the Parent Portal. Training and assistance will be provided for parents to enroll in and navigate through the Parent Portal.

    Teachers will contact parents to provide their schedules and specific plans for their teacher-parent communication.  It is very important that you provide the school and classroom teacher with your most current address, email and telephone information.  If any of your contact information changes, please update the teacher and the main office as soon as possible.

    While our school buildings will remain closed, the school office will be open daily from 8:00am-3:30pm. I encourage our families to frequently visit our school webpage for up to date and accurate information. I also encourage you to contact me directly for any questions or concerns.
